Tips For Saving Your Fuel

Driving our vehicles is a great way to get around and see the world.  One of the biggest problems with a vehicle is the constant need for fuel as well as general maintenance and repairs.  Even when you use a fass fuel pump in your vehicle, you will still need to add gas and do maintenance.  Here are a few tips that you can use to help get the most bang for your buck.

Avoid high speeds

You want to drive at a constant speed and a slower speed.  The faster you operate your vehicle the more gas your engine will consume.  Also, putting your foot on the gas and break will cause your gas to be consumed as well.  Keep to either highway driving or street driving.  Follow the shortest path possible and use cruise control if at all possible.

Keep constant pressure on your pedals

Don’t accelerate quickly or break hard.  When we do we are wearing out our vehicle as well as sending unneeded fuel into the engine.  When fuel isn’t used it is burned off as a waste.

Maintain your tires

Maintain proper tires.  You want your tires to be properly inflated, ensure that there are no ware marks and if you do have issues that they are addressed immediately.  You will also want to make sure that your wheels and brakes are aligned.  Keeping your vehicle in tip top shape will only help with the overall health of your vehicle.

Avoid your engine from working hard

You want to avoid putting extra stress on your engine.  You want to use your AC sparingly, you want to drive in cooler weather and make sure your engine is worked in and warmed up before pushing it too hard.

Decrease drag

You want to decrease the drag on your vehicle.  As you drive, the wind will push against the front of the vehicle as well as increase the drag created by the wind.  If there is little to no resistance pushing against the car then it won’t burn as much fuel.
