DVD Winners

Thanks to everyone who has contributed their dollars and their support for three runs of the Save Jericho Again TV ad — twice on various cable channels via Time-Warner in LA and soon on UHD across the nation.  

All who donated at least $20 during the course of the campaign had their names thrown in the hat during our SJA Chat tonight, and five names were chosen as winners of a DVD featuring the TV commercial and the great work of RP:

Hey RP! This one’s for you……

For someone who works so hard for his family, his business, his church, all of us, and Jericho, you don’t get much of a break, do you?  Well, we’d like for that to change — if only a brief respite.  And that’s what we’re offering you, Jason.  Some rest and relaxation for a weekend with Mrs. RP in some place called Easton, where we’ve heard that you have spent a pleasant getaway weekend before.  We figured that, for all you do for us, it’s time that we do for you.

ROUND 2: Making more history with Brad and D.B. 7-2-08

 

Never let it be said that moss grows under a Jericho Ranger’s feet!  Now that the 10-day run of our Save Jericho Again TV ads have wrapped up, and many other campaigns, such the Variety ad, billboard, several great  humanitarian efforts, balloons and cake, and various nutty endeavors, have reached a conclusion, we’ve got to keep the momentum going. We’ve made some noise, and we’re being noticed, but our work is not over yet.

 

That’s why we’re moving into Round 2 of the TV ad campaign. Thanks to a very generous offer by PMary and Jeff Knoll to help us make some quick bucks and purchase more air time, we are offering for auction eight Jericho scripts from Season 2’s “Termination for Cause,” personally signed by that episode’s central players Brad Beyer and D.B. Sweeney, on eBay. 

 

PMary and Jeff successfully auctioned off other Jericho items through eBay to fund the Variety and billboard campaigns, and they are graciously doing the same to help fund us more ads and get more eyes on Rubberpoultry’s fantastic Save Jericho Again commercial.  We won’t be able to purchase as large a media schedule as before, but based on what we bring in through the eBay auction, we can certainly seek additional targeted airtime and supplement our continuing letter- and postcard-writing campaigns. 

 

So, if you want to own a script that showcased “Stanley” and “Goetz” in some of the finest and most moving TV I’ve seen in years, take a look at this.  At the same time, you’ll be contributing to Save Jericho Again.  Time is limited, and we have only a couple of days to get the word out and seek the best price on these valuable scripts bearing the John Hancock of Brad, our fabulous commercial voice-over guy!

Can You Hear Me Now? Comcast’s Fancast Can!

If you’ve ever wondered if you’re simply a lone voice in the wilderness, especially when it comes to loving and promoting Jericho, please take heart!  Your collective voices have been heard, and thanks to your overwhelming response with insightful comments and Diggs to this week’s Fancast piece, your words, thoughts and actions as a Jericho Ranger are going to be experienced louder and stronger than ever before.

 

Here are a couple of excerpts from an e-mail received from Julia Diddy, columnist for Sci Fi Tracker at Fancast.com:

 

Hi Julie!  Hi gang!  Well, my editor and others at Fancast were so pleased by the reaction to the Jericho column, they’ve given me the greenlight to give this regular coverage……what you’re doing is exciting stuff, and we’d love to help you get the word out.

 

In a later e-mail, she added:

 

Fancast would love to continue to profile the ongoing campaign to find Jericho a new home.  There was a great reception to the article [“Behind the Scenes of the ‘Save Jericho’ Campaign”] regarding the fight to save Jericho thus far.  The campaign is obviously a saga in its own right.  I would love to find out from others involved – producers, writers, cast…what the Save Jericho campaign has meant to them, how it is casting a light on changes that need to be made within the television industry (outdated Nielsen measurement methods, etc.), how this grassroots campaign is breaking new ground, etc.

 

If you’re unfamiliar with Fancast, here are a few tidbits provided by Julia:

  • Owned by Comcast (Did you hear me?  Owned by Comcast?  Ring a bell?  Haven’t we written a postcard or two…..or thousands…..to Comcast?)
  • With a goal of being the best video aggregator, but unlike sites such as Hulu, Fancast has robust editorial, i.e. columns, articles, great info and insightful commentary
  • Officially launched last January, with unique views hovering at 3 million last month alone (Unique views?  See previous “Jericho Love is Universal” blog J)
  • A very active sci-fi genre on the site in terms of shows and the shows’ fans

So, be on the lookout for more columns highlighting our community and our efforts to preserve Jericho and what’s left of quality TV programming!  You spoke out with lots of passion, commitment, and obvious intelligence, plus a good dose of appreciation for Julia’s article, and see what it got you??  Let’s continue to tell the Jericho story, and please show the love to Fancast for giving us the opportunity.

Save Jericho Again spot now available in high resolution for download

Over the course of the last few days, I’ve had a number of requests for a downloadable version of the spot at a higher resolution. Now that I’ve finally found the time to make that happen, it’s online and ready for download. It’s the next best thing to being in LA in front of a Time Warner Cable subscriber’s TV.
