DVD Winners

Thanks to everyone who has contributed their dollars and their support for three runs of the Save Jericho Again TV ad — twice on various cable channels via Time-Warner in LA and soon on UHD across the nation.

All who donated at least $20 during the course of the campaign had their names thrown in the hat during our SJA Chat tonight, and five names were chosen as winners of a DVD featuring the TV commercial and the great work of RP:

Ann Walton of University Heights, OH

Hilda Bowen (PBMom) of The Woodlands, TX

Cynthia Riggins of Concord, CA

Gregg Thompson of Boca Raton, FL

Elizabeth Stinebaugh (PV544) of Albuquerque, NM

Congrats to our winners!  RP will be shipping those DVDs out soon.

To the rest of you…many thanks for all your loyalty and support!  Your trust in us has been nothing short of humbling.

Loving UHD….and still lovin’ Jericho!

Is it a little too quiet in here?  Yeah, I thought so, too.  But hold on…we’ve got our Save Jericho Again ads going national on UHD very soon.

Redsox is in the process of getting the contract worked out, Rubberpoultry is getting the ad put together in the format needed by UHD, I’m ready to write the big, fat payment check and the big, fat news release regarding our latest ad efforts, and GenPatton is building up his reserves to lead cheers when we go national!  All this, of course, between some rather stressful days on our jobs lately, plus taking care of things on the homefront.  However, once we get all details worked out, which will be very soon, we’ll post the ad schedule and ask you to help us spread the word.

For now, though, we’re still here, we’re still moving forward, and we still love Jericho!  Thanks to all of you who helped put us over the top again with ad funding.

In the meantime, take advantage of “all Jericho, all the time” on UHD if you have access to it (I don’t!).  There’s a plethora of Jericho (and Skeet hotness) on UHD during all time periods through November 30th.  Please show UHD and the Skeetaliciousness some love!

Last call for Char on the Hollywood Reporter!

We did an auction last week on a signed Hollywood Reporter with 8 signatures, and the bidding was fierce. The bidding ended with a final price of $225. A user who identified her/himself as Char won the auction.

Unfortunately, this user’s email address appears to have been incorrectly entered, and all attempts on our part to contact this user have failed. Char, if you see this, please contact us (info@savejerichoagain.com)!

If we don’t hear from Char over the weekend, the item will be re-listed on Monday.

Thanks

Round 2 Roundup: Our TV ad to hit the airwaves again!

It’s time to check in and let you know where we stand with all our Save Jericho Again activities, as well as to applaud YOU for your continued loyalty, commitment, and zeal to keeping alive one of the most thought-provoking, talked-about, and, from our standpoint, beloved TV shows in years.

But first, I’m going to make it a little bit hard for myself in order to help educate my offspring in the art of language.  She’s working on high school level vocabulary words and moaning and groaning with aggravation that her mother gets so jazzed about such things.  Anybody who knows me knows that I LOVE words, and anybody who reads my writing or becomes the unfortunate victim of my ramblings knows that I love LOTS of words (verbosity) and big ones, at that!  My daughter…..eh, not so much.  Not a verbal sort (but with vastly greater intelligence than my own), and she can’t begin to fathom why her vocabulary words even matter or how they can add anything of interest to the world as it currently exists.  You may agree with her, but  ~ HANDS OVER EARS ~  I’m ignoring you.  :)

Honestly, it’s such a strange compilation of words, neither can I, but I’m trying to make a point here.  This may be awful, but please abide with me as I provide you with latest info on my other great love Jericho, all the while, proving to my daughter that some of these words actually work (however awkward).  Oh, she, of little faith!  Who knows?  It may be educational, but if it’s making your stomach roil, please cut a poor mother a break as she pushes her progeny toward the importance of two of the Rs of learning.  So, without further ado (and NO teenage eye-rolling):

  • Thanks to a second push to satisfy our desires as part the so-named Jericho syndrome, we have reached over $4,000 in donations for the second set of TV ads to run in the Los Angeles area during a  two-week run, beginning September 1st.  We are slated for 195 prime-time and bonus spots (which means after 6 a.m. and before noon — not the tenebrous wee hours of the morn!) in the same Westside/Beverly Hills and South San Fernando Valley areas, just as before, on Discovery, ESPN, History, and SciFi Channels.  In addition, Redsox has worked with Time-Warner to secure $800 worth of additional spots, at no extra cost, and we should have more detail very soon on that media flight (Julie’s euphemism for “schedule”).  You’ve heard it before, but Redsox’s work with Time-Warner has been phenomenal, and we should be grateful that we have such a skilled negotiator working on our behalf.
  • And while I’m in the thanking mode, let me say that there’s no sign of any megalomania, but instead nothing but humility and good ‘ole team spirit from so many people involved in this latest feat we’ve accomplished together.  Beyond the extraordinarily generous monetary donations of over $2,600 by hundreds of Jericho fans (some, several times over), we would have never reached our mark without the special assistance graciously offered by PMary and Jeff Knoll through Jericho scripts for auction.  Many thanks to both of them (and especially to Jeff on the use of his auction site account) for helping us raise $1120 for this effort.  Thanks also to RP and writer Robbie Thompson for the donation of the incredibly entertaining and valuable “A.K.A.” script and additional autographs. Our sweet, quiet grandmother Nana said she broke open the bank for this $402 token of her favorite episode!  A special ‘thank you’ also to Jericho’s Brad Beyer and RP (again) for the signed DVD copies of our spectacular Save Jericho Again ad.
  • WE also have to extend our sincere appreciation to superfans K6 and Beebull who displayed super examples of superego in their sacrifice of cherished personal items to be auctioned as part of our fundraising goal.  We’re continuing to auction these items, so check out the remaining goodies.  To everyone else, I wish I could name each and every person by name who’s made this entire campaign possible, but, for now, our Donor page on this site will have to suffice.  Please know, however, that there are no adequate words (can you believe THAT?) to express how you have humbled the Save Jericho Again team with your trust in us and your trust in our ability to represent you.
  • So as not to be dissonant, however, in efforts to allow each of you the opportunity for some of the aforementioned Jericho items, RP has created five extra DVD copies of the TV ad for giveaways to some lucky donors.  For anyone who’s donated at least $20 going back to the very beginning of this campaign in  May, your name will be thrown in the hat for a drawing to win one of these keepsake DVDS.
  • Please check in soon to see the latest posted Time-Warner ad schedules and to hear more details on the DVD giveaways.

I apologize for this post’s lack of pungent wit (and length), but hey….sometimes, the road to education is painful!  Thank you for allowing me to expostulate on its importance — and, more importantly, thank you for loving Jericho!

** How’d you do?

  • verbosity — wordiness
  • progeny — offspring, as a child
  • syndrome — pattern of symptoms indicating particular social condition
  • tenebrous — dark and gloomy
  • euphemism — substitution of indirect expression for one thought to be less blunt (pre-owned rather than second-hand; expire rather than die; undocument worker for illegal alien)
  • megalomania – delusions of greatness
  • superego — part of personality representing conscience and goodness
  • dissonant – inconsistent
  • pungent — mentally stimulating, as in pungent wit
  • expostulate — counsel, to reason earnestly for discussion

A.K.A Auction has a winner!

And the winner is…..

Nana!

She got the script for $402, plus she kicked in some extra to support the ad.

Congrats, and enjoy that script.

Thanks to everyone who participated!

Autographed A.K.A. script now up for auction.

Own the script that told Hawkins’ backstory, had Mimi talking to chickens, and forged a new relationship between Jake and Hawkins.

This script, autographed by episode writer Robbie Thompson, series creator Jon Steinberg, and executive story editors Matt Federman and Steve Scaia, will be a treasured collectors’ item that one lucky fan will enjoy thumbing through for years to come. Script contains cut scenes, and even characters, left on the cutting room floor.

The auction appears on the right. Bidding is limited to registered users. You can register HERE.

Circumventing eBay - We’re going to get this script sold!

Anyone who’s been following the saga of the A.K.A. script knows we’ve been trying to get the thing on eBay throughout this week. Long story short…eBay says that selling scripts is a copyright violation and against its rules. Very ironic, since we’ve already sold several to raise funds for this effort.

Anyway- this evening, we’ve been looking into how to auction off the script, and the first thought was to do a live auction right here in the SJA chat room.  After digging around, I found a plug-in that will allow us to do an eBay-style auction. You’ll see it on the right (if you’re logged in), if not it looks like this:

Click on it, and you’ll see a window that is very similar in style (information-wise) to what you get with an eBay auction:

Before we do this for real, I’d like to do a test, so I need as many of you as are willing to place bids on the test auction. Obviously, none of it is for real, so go nuts. Let’s just work the bugs out.

And remember, eventually you’ll be bidding on this:

We’ll fire the real auction up after we’ve had some time to test.

Thanks! Rubberpoultry

A message from Jericho writer Robbie Thompson (Writer Episode 18 “A.K.A.”)

Robbie Thompson is a name many of us may not know, although he worked on both seasons of Jericho in the writer’s room. Over the last month plus, I’ve gotten to know Robbie, and like so many others in the Jericho family, he’s an amazing guy.

Robbie started out as a writers’ assistant, and on Episode 18 (AKA), Carol Barbee gave him the reins to craft the story. This episode showed us Robert and Darcy Hawkins in love, the beginning of Jake’s and Hawkins’ relationship in those intense scenes in the basement, and who could forget Mimi and the chicken?

Robbie was kind enough to donate a signed script (which also includes signatures from Jon Steinberg, Matt Federman, and Steve Scaia) for the effort to raise funds to get the ad back on the air. He also wanted to share a few words with everyone:

“Hey, Robbie Thompson here. I just wanted to say thank you all for everything you’ve done for Jericho. I’m so proud to be a part of this show’s legacy - a legacy that simply would not exist without your creativity, hard work and belief in the show. You made television history - twice! First by bringing the show back from the dead, and again by creating the first ever fan created television ad. I’m just blown away by the quality and craftsmanship of the work Jason did on the ad, and I hope auctioning off this signed copy of Episode 18, “A.K.A.” will help raise the necessary funds to get your amazing ad back on the air and keep the fight to save Jericho alive. Thanks again, Robbie Thompson”

Thanks, Robbie. We appreciate all that you’ve done for Jericho and its fans!

A new update from Carol Barbee 8-4-08

After numerous requests from within the fandom, I checked in with Carol today, and she was kind enough to respond, even though she’s out of the office through August. It turns out KayT did the same thing by coincidence.

She told me that the Jericho producers are moving full steam ahead on two of the fronts we’ve been already heard about. What’s really exciting is that she said they’re actually working on a story document for presentations associated with the current negotiations.

Negotiations are always sensitive, so there’s not much more that can be said right now, but I think this is really great news.

I know the next question is which two fronts. I think we’ll have that information sooner rather than later.

Jericho’s newest fan arrives - Baby Poultry is born!

There are some moments in life that are indescribable. Tonight, I experienced one of those when I saw my baby girl for the first time. That moment, and the moment when her mommy first held her, will forever be etched in my mind as something so special, words haven’t been created yet to describe them.

The best thing about being a Jericho fan is being part of such an incredible community. So many of you have shared well wishes and happy thoughts to my wife and I over the last few days via e-mail, Facebook, and over the phone. Many of you knew that we were going in for an induction Thursday, July 24. Well, turns out we didn’t exactly need the induction. Michele gave birth totally on her own with no drugs or anything to get it going. No epidural either! OUCH!

Anyway, it is with much excitement and enthusiasm (even at 3:25AM) that I share with you our newest arrival:

This morning (July 25th), we welcomed Madeline Darby Moore into the world at 1:12AM. She weighed 6lbs, 10oz.

You will eventually be able to see her photo at the following link (under parents Jason and Michele), although I’ll try to post some pictures at some point soon:

Thank you all for celebrating this incredible moment us.

Jason

EDIT: Finally added some photos.
