If you’re a Jericho fan, you probably already aware of the fact that today all across the country, the new season 3 comic book releases. The 6 issue comic book picks up right where the show left off and has the same kind of intensity and action that we came to love in season 2.
As you read through the pages you can almost hear the familiar voices of the characters and the musical magic of David Lawrence.
If you haven’t ordered a copy, check your local comic book store or order it right here. My local shop had about 10 copies in stock when I went in to pick mine up. It looks amazing.
What an exciting day for Jericho fans everywhere!

If you’re a Jericho fan, and unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know that the Jericho comic book is coming out in late October. Published by Devil’s Due Publishing, the Season 3 comic book picks up where the show left off and takes the story in exciting and new directions.
What’s even cooler is that the original writers on the show are writing the comic book. I’ve been told that Jon Turteltaub, Carol Barbee, Dan Shotz, Karim Zreik, Jon Steinberg, Matthew Federman, Stephen Scaia, Robert Levine, Josh Schaer and Robbie Thompson are the team behind the story. That is the most exciting piece of all. We know it will be the same Jericho we’ve come to love.
I’ve also been told that they have so much story in the first issue, they had to add more story pages to get to get it all in. I really can’t wait to see it!

Jon, thanks for agreeing to talk with us about the forthcoming Jericho comic book series. As I’m sure you know Jericho fans are eagerly awaiting the continuation of the Jericho storyline.
Here are some questions submitted by Jericho’s most diehard fans:
1. Are you going to approach the storyline differently than you would have for a television series?
In terms of the story itself, I would say that we’ve pretty much picked up the story from the end of season two of the tv series, and continued it forward in the same spirit we started it in. But producing a tv show is a lot different than creating a comic book. WIth the book, we didn’t have to worry about locations, special effects, shooting days, or any of the other practical challenges that we dealt with on the show. So the comics will be telling a story that’s very much a Jericho story, but in a way that is, to say the least, bigger than any tv show could ever be. By a lot.
2. Will any of the storyline from season 2 that was dumped due to the shortened season be included in the comic book in some way?
Not really. I think we focused more on pushing the story forward from where we left off than going back to fill in the blanks.
3. Will the action move around the country, or just be fixed in Cheyenne and Texas where the show left off?
I would say you should expect to see a lot more of the country than we ever saw on the show. Some places that have been referred to already in the show, and some that haven’t.
4. For those who didn’t watch the TV series, will you tell the backstory through flashbacks?
We hope (and plan) for these books to be accessible to everybody, whether they’ve seen every episode of the tv series or none at all. I’m not sure we’ll use flashbacks, but the story should make clear what’s going on
5. How many of the characters from the TV series will be in the comic book?
Pretty much all of them, I think. Obviously we’ll spend more time with some than with others.
6. Any chance of a real Stimi union happening ?
You never know…
Awesome! We can’t wait. We appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this. Much success on the comic book and you upcoming series Human Target!

If you haven’t heard about Welcome Home to Jericho, you’re missing out. Next month, dedicated Jericho fans are putting on a reunion/get-together event to celebrate all things Jericho.
If you’ve ever wanted to meet the cast and crew behind Jericho, this is your big chance. Brad Beyer (Stanley Richmond), Clare Carey (Mary Bailey), Esai Morales (Major Beck), April Parker Jones (Darcy Hawkins) and Bob Stephenson (Jimmy Taylor) are scheduled to appear as well as writer/producer Matthew Federman and crewmen Mike Loomer and Eric “Dr. Booty” Kieltyka. This will be an amazing opportunity for one and all.
With the tough economic conditions facing many fans, registrations are currently lower than expected, and planners are trying to assess what the final numbers look like. In order to break even they are looking to have 50 to 75, so if you’re planning on going and have not yet registered, please do so right away.
The event is taking place April 24th thru 26th at the Sportsman’s Lodge in Studio City, CA.

There are certain experiences in life that you know will become permanent memories just as they’re happening. This week, when business had me traveling to Los Angeles, I experienced one of those after meeting for dinner with 14 people involved in our much beloved Jericho.
Before I tell you the story, I want to say that I’m fully aware of just how lucky I am to have the opportunity to communicate with, know, and visit with these people. I pinch myself every time I think of it. I wish I could have brought everyone along, but, unfortunately, that would have been impossible. Instead, I thought I’d give you the run-down on what it was like and give you the skinny on what everyone is doing.
First off, I never expected this to be as big as it was. There are a few writers, producers, and crew with whom I stay in fairly close contact. I had about six or seven solid confirmations to the dinner invitation I sent out, so I fully expected that I’d be meeting with those folks. Word began to spread, however, and what started out as a small thing blossomed into a decent reunion of sorts for cast, crew, and writer/producers.
Unfortunately, Carol Barbee and Jon Steinberg couldn’t make it, but for good reason. Both have pilots being made for a chance on the fall schedule. Carol is actually working on two shows, Three Rivers (which is her pilot) for CBS, and Beautiful Life (on the CW), which she is executive producing. Jon wrote a pilot for Fox called Human Target, which is based on a DC Comics character. I’m very excited about both shows and hope that we see them go to series.
So, I arrived at the restaurant where we’d agreed to meet, and when I get there, Erik “Dr. Booty” Kieltyka is sitting in the bar waiting for everyone to arrive. We had a great conversation, and right away, I felt right at home. My friend Mike Loomer arrived next, greeting me with a big bear hug. It was great to see and catch up with him in person. He’s awesome. Plain and simple.
If I recall correctly, Matthew Federman, Robbie Thompson, and Stephen Scaia walked in, which was especially cool, since I’ve gotten to know and even work with them a bit over the last half year or so. Things start to get blurry after this, but I believe series co-creator Josh Schaer arrived after that, and then a few minutes later, I believe Bob Stephenson walked in. I was totally shocked at that point, since I thought the group who had arrived up until that point was pretty much going to be it. All of those guys were great. I’m not sure what was more fun — interacting with all of them or observing the excitement they exhibited when seeing each other.
I don’t recall the exact order from here, but I about fell over when one by one, Lennie James, Michael Gaston, and Kenneth Mitchell walked in the room. Lennie is a riot, and greeted me by saying “We’ve met before.” I couldn’t believe he remembered. Michael Gaston said “So, you’re Rubberpoultry? I know you.” Meeting Kenneth was great. He’s very down-to-earth and easy to talk to.
I asked Jericho fan PMary (who helped organize the bilboard project, among many many other things) if she wanted to come since she lives in the area, and she was able to make it also. It was awesome to finally meet her in person. She was kind enough to shoot the pictures posted here.
The restaurant we were in was closing early, so we decided to look for another place that was open later. A couple of people from the group went out and investigated, and after finding a place, we walked to another restaurant. Along the way, we ran into Brad Beyer. Any Jericho fan would have about flipped to see five of the cast members and several well known writer/producers and crew walking through Universal Citywalk. It was quite a sight.
On the way over, I talked with series co-creator Josh Schaer about the formation of the show. It was fascinating to hear him describe he and Jon brainstorming in Jon’s living room about what we all got hooked on. He’s got some really cool projects in the works, and I hope we get to see them on our TV screens soon.
Once we arrived at the restaurant, I sat down, and Michael Gaston sat down to my right. Next to him was Kenneth Mitchell, and across from me was Lennie James. To my left was Josh Schaer.
I spent quite a bit of time in the beginning talking to Michael Gaston. It seems I was very lucky to have him there as he lives in New York, and was just in town for the week. He is always working on something, it seems. He’s been guest starring on a show I really love called Fringe. We talked about that some and a few of the other projects he’s been working on.
Kenneth came straight over from shooting Ghost Whisperer. He’s been a regular on that show for a while now. He is playing a version of one of the main characters on the show. It seems one of the main character’s spirits jumps into his body from time to time. I haven’t watched much of GW, but I think next time it’s on, I’ll have to check it out.
Lennie is playing a NY lawyer in a new pilot written by Jericho writer Frank Military. Lennie is freaking hilarious. One funny moment of the night happened when everyone but him had gotten their food. He was getting more and more frustrated as everyone had their plates delivered. After asking the waiter several times if his food was coming, I said, “I can’t help but picture you as Hawkins, snapping that guy’s neck right now.” He laughed and then one-upped me, saying, “No, if I were Hawkins right now, he would have just fallen to the ground, and you would have never seen me move.” Everyone started laughing, and then he said, “Picture me sitting in the kitchen with the entire wait and kitchen staff passed out on the ground, with me sitting in the middle eating a burger” (or something to that effect). It was a riot.
I made my way to the middle of the table at one point and got to talk to Matt Federman and Steve Scaia. They’re writing for a show called “Warehouse 13″ on Sci-fi. The show features a secret warehouse where supernatural objects are stored. They’ve also got a feature in the works and are awaiting word on a pilot they’ve written. I’ve read the script, and it’s an incredible show. Keep your fingers crossed!
On a strange but true personal note… I learned that Steve and I had likely been at the same place at the same time more than once. Steve and I grew up about 45 minutes away from each other, and we both graduated the same year. It also happens that we were both in marching band, and he remembered coming to the band competition that our school hosted each year. We definitely were both there, and may have even competed at several other competitions over the years. Small world, I guess.
Robbie Thompson has become a great friend over the last year via phone and e-mail, so I was really looking forward to meeting him. He wrote one of my favorite episodes of Jericho (A.K.A). Right now, he is working with Jon Steinberg on “Human Target” and has other things in development. Later this year, he has a series coming out on the Web called “Ark.” I was fortunate enough to work on some of the visuals, as well as the logo for the show. It’s a really cool project, and I can’t wait to see it finished.
My pal Mike Loomer has been working on The Jonas Brothers’ show and is somehow still sane!
Next month, he’ll go back to work on Raising the Bar, which is a legal drama starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Jane Kaczmarek. Unfortunately, with such a large group, I didn’t get a chance to talk to him as much as I’d hoped.
If I recall correctly, Dr. Booty told me he was working on The Cleaner. That guy is a total party and was lots of fun to be around.
I made my way over to Bob Stephenson, and he told me that he’s starring in a new pilot, but I don’t think I ever caught the name of it. He’s a very approachable, extremely nice guy. Everyone was talking to him about all of his commercials. It was funny to hear them rib him about them.
One of the things I was most looking forward to was being able to thank Brad Beyer in person for doing the voice-over for our commercial. Brad is just as you’d expect him. Really nice, and extremely approachable. He is also very humble. He thanked me (and, in turn, all of us) for everything we’ve done for the show.
About two-thirds of the way through dinner, Dan Shotz showed up. He’s very busy, so the fact that he made it was awesome. Unfortunately, Karim, who was planning to be there, didn’t make it.
Dan is such a welcoming guy. He has always made me felt comfortable in person over the phone and via e-mail with whatever situation is at play. The rest of the group was razzing him a bit about the movie, and he commented that they definitely want to make it happen. I told him that their comments get everyone fired up. He acknowledged that and said they truly were working on it.
I was about to talk with him about Wondercon, but we got interrupted. I never got to return to the subject, but he told me to come by his office to visit and see what’s left of the main street sets, so I thought we might be able to talk about it then. Unfortunately, when I arrived he was out to lunch, so we didn’t get to talk. Of course, now I can confirm that it was indeed the comic book they were referring to.
Dan’s assistant knew I was coming by, so I was able to wander around the sets (which are a combination of Jericho and Swingtown). There is still enough there for it to still feel like our small Kansas town. It’s amazing how much smaller it looks in person.
And I know everyone is wondering….where was Skeet? Apparently, he entertained the idea of coming, but ended up tending to his kids since it was near bedtime.
All in all, it was about exactly as you’d imagine it to be. Everyone was very friendly, and they all have great stories to tell. You could see the chemistry of the cast/crew/writers/producers from the start. They truly enjoy each other’s company, and as I mentioned, most of them keep in touch. I really hope that they have the chance to work on Jericho again. I know they’d like to.
It sounded like some of them are planning on coming to the Welcome Home to Jericho event, which is great news for fans. I wish I could make it, but, unfortunately, business has me tied up that weekend. A great time will be had by all.
Signing off for now! Enjoy the set pics below…

I am so glad to finally be able to get this off my chest! The Jericho story will continue in (at least) comic book form, if not in other ways, too. This has been in the works since last year, and for whatever reason, the announcement finally came today. The best part of all is that the original production team will be involved in the project. That means Jon Turteltaub, Carol Barbee, Jon Steinberg, Dan Shotz, and Karim Zreik will all be developing the story.
I know for many fans that it’s not ideal, but it’s a start. We’ve been told several times that a movie is in development, and Dan confirmed this when I visited with him last week. We’ll follow this story as it unfolds.
Also coming soon will be a recap of my visit with the cast/crew/writers/producers, which included a set visit.

WELCOME HOME TO JERICHO CHARITY EVENT
RECEIVES EXCITING GUEST CONFIRMATIONS
Anticipation builds for ‘family-style reunion’ in L.A.
to benefit military members and their families
Welcome Home to Jericho! Amid nuclear bombs, heartache, and strife, Jericho was – and always will be – a lot like home to many of us. It’s a phenomenal show and a special place where we still hold dear precious things and embrace values like friendship, family, love, community, and teamwork when everything else in the world may be falling apart. For the fans and many people associated with the show, it’s probably a feeling that transcends the fictional TV “Jericho” and translates to what the show brought to us in real life.
Since Jericho gave us such a wonderful gift and reminded us of the many tangibles that truly matter, we have decided to celebrate it as the “family” we have become with Welcome Home to Jericho: A Charity Event (WHTJ), benefiting the Southern California Chapter of Operation Homefront, on April 24-26 at The Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, California.
Hosted by Jericho Rangers For Our Troops (JR4OT) on behalf of Operation Homefront, the Welcome Home fundraising event will focus on best serving our troops and their families through efforts dubbed Operation Summer Camp and Operation Back-to-School. So, while fellow fans come together to meet each other and some of the show’s cast, writers, producers, and crew, the event also will address funding for the children of deployed troops, as they and their parents have so clearly captured the hearts of Jericho cast and crew and fans worldwide.
Some of the latest developments in the planning of Welcome Home to Jericho include:
He will be joined by actress April Parker-Jones (Darcy Hawkins), Jericho writer/producer Matt Federman, on-set dresser Mike Loomer, and on-set prop master Erik Kieltyka (also affectionately known as “Dr. Booty”). ShaunOMac of TV Talk on BlogTalkRadio also will be on hand to cover the event as part of his show.
Event organizers will provide further details on guest appearances as confirmations are received.
A special TV community called Jericho, some big-hearted, never-say-die fans, a number of caring professionals from the TV drama, and many committed members of military-supporting organization are all coming together in an unprecedented show of humanitarianism and compassion to recognize the sacrifices made by our military members and their families. Please join us! As we have said since this event’s inception: it’s not a party without you; it’s not a family reunion without you; it’s not Jericho without you!

Yep, you read that right…Jericho may be headed for the big screen.
Today, waves of excitement surged throughout the Jericho fan community as If Magazine reported in an interview with Jon Turteltaub that there is a Jericho theatrical movie in development. The article which you can read here, is the best news to come around in a long time for Jericho fans.
Jon Turteltaub stated, “We’re developing a feature for JERICHO. It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it gets into life after an event like this on a national scale. It would be the bigger, full-on American version of what’s going on beyond the town in Jericho.” He also indicated that the cast would likely return if the movie comes to fruition.
After the story came my way through several emails and IMs, I immediately e-mailed Executive Producer Carol Barbee, and she confirmed that this story is indeed true. She said they have an incredible story developed, and we should all keep our fingers crossed as things move forward.
There has been speculation for some time that a movie was being developed, and from what I’ve gathered from chatting with some of the key players, it has been pursued at some level since the show was canceled. This interview takes things to a whole ‘nother level! Things like this don’t just slip out, and I believe there may be heavy momentum building toward seeing the story continued in theatrical form.
It’s a good day to be a Jericho fan!

As our friend Redsox continues to make his business case for Jericho, we can all be happy to know there’s plenty of places where we can once again re-live the kinship we felt with the Green family and the citizens of our favorite post-nuke town.
Those places also are providing a venue or two for fresh eyes who have become enamored of the series in its second (third?) life. Take this comment posted yesterday on Save Jericho Again in regard to Redsox’s latest plan of attack:
EKG said,
Season’s Greetings Jericho Fans!
I thought Jason (Rubberpoultry) might send a message out to you for me since the last time I looked, the CBS site wasn’t working. So if you’re still out there, I just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Holiday Season!!! I also want to say that no matter what the future holds for Jericho, I hope you never ever lose that kind spirit I witnessed when you all saved the show the first time. Carry that with you in all you do! I really hope others have been inspired by you the way you did me because the world could use more people like that. We will always have the best fans anyone could ever ask for and we couldn’t possibly forget you – ever.
I have some things in the works that will hopefully get underway in 2009. Cross your fingers for me that we can get it off the ground! Of course if Jericho comes back, I will be glad to join in the fun there too if they’ll have me. I hope 2009 brings joy for you all. I know it’s tough times for many so I hope everyone stays positive and good things come to you. Here’s to making 2009 a special year!!!
Best regards,
Jennie Sword
Our friend Redsox/Barney has a lot to say about our TV ad and saving Jericho. So, I will just go ahead and let him say it. See his message below:
What can you do to help Save Jericho Again?
Many of the fans started to work on the latest Save Jericho Again campaign in early November, when we were getting ready to launch the TV commercial that the fans funded on the UHD channel (NBC Universal’s High Definition Channel). We discovered that CBS had put Season One on Youtube and went about posting a paragraph on Myspace, FaceBook and Web boards all over the Internet that Jericho was alive and well on Youtube and was being shown on UHD.
On November 20, 2008, CBS Paramount and The CW surprised many when it scrapped its entire Sunday night line up and replaced it with Jericho at 7:00pm EST and a movie-of-the-week. With that announcement, many felt we had been given one more opportunity to show the executives and financial people at CBS Paramount and the other networks that Jericho was a valuable commodity worth continuing. A large group of us met at the UHD Board on November 20, 2008, and from that meeting, came up with Operation Phoenix: Jericho Rises from the Ashes.
This campaign is simple, but has a very real goal. We need to build a business case for continuing Jericho. How do we do that? First and foremost, we need every person we can in front of their television sets watching Jericho on the CW, especially Nielsen families. We also need people watching on Youtube, Netflix, buying DVDs and Itunes, and watching on the internet at places like Hulu.
We are putting together quantifiable stats and sending them to the executives at several of the networks, including CBS Paramount and NBC Universal.
Another important part of being counted and measured is continuing to step up the feedback and writing of letters and cards. Each week after the episodes air on the CW, we need to complete the feed back forms for the CW and CBS (both have Jericho in a drop pick list), and we are writing letters and sending them out on Mondays to Nancy Tellem at CBS and Bonnie Hammer at NBC.
On Thursdays, we are sending letters to Dawn Ostroff at the CW and D’Arcy Rudnay at Comcast. We believe that NBC Universal, which owns UHD and is showing Jericho and also owns SciFi, USA and other channels, is a logical home for Jericho. Comcast was in negotiations back in the summer with CBS Paramount to produce more episodes, so we are targeting them as well.
Feedback Forms we are completing each week include:
CW Feedback Form http://cwtv.com/feedback/comments
CBS Feedback Form http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.php
Also contact your local CW station and complete feedback form.

Julie/Welcome
OK, it’s Week 2 of Jericho’s airing on The CW Network this past Sunday. It’s our “little show that could,” the twice-canceled post-apocalyptic drama that has found new life (again!), the spark that keeps the flame alive in the hearts of fans who want more shock and awe from that beautiful-but-flawed Green boy, the badder-than-Jack-Bauer Robert Hawkins and his quietly tough wife “Dah-cy,” Major Hottie Beck, the butt-kickin’ Jericho women, and the rest of the townfolk whom we love as if we all co-existed here and now in our own world, with its current economic and battle-weary woes.
So, how are we doing? Well, it looks as if viewership fell from the first week’s 1.3 million folks watching Jericho to 1.13 million this past Sunday, according to TVbythenumbers.com. But Variety had a little different spin on it today:
CW continues to see improvement over its disastrous early-season Sunday sked, as the combo of “Jericho” (0.4/1 in 18-49, 1.1 million viewers overall) and the 1992 movie “Cutting Edge” (0.6/1 in 18-49, 1.6 million viewers overall) gave the net its best performance on the night this fall.
In addition, our resident statistician Barney pulled together this latest compilation of info:
And, finally, here’s the UHD media flight schedule for Dec. 11-14. On Thursday, December 11, look for our TV ad at 8:38 a.m., 11:54 a.m., 1:08 p.m., 2:05 p.m., 2:50 p.m., 3:34 p.m., 4:59 p.m., and 5:35 p.m. On Friday, December 12, you can see it at 9:21a.m., 10:28 a.m., 11:17 a.m., 12:20 p.m., 1:43 p.m., 6:05 p.m., and 6:53 p.m. The weekend evening schedule looks like this: On Saturday, December 13, you can catch the ad at 7:37 p.m., 8:31p.m., and 9:31 p.m., and on Sunday, December 14, you can find it at 7:16 p.m., 8:19 p.m., and 8:59 p.m.
Since I am the Queen of a Cliché (though I forgot how to put my little accent thing-y over the ‘e,’ until fan Mike Weber educated me on a character map — thanks, Mike!!), I would love to pepper you with lots more as they relate to Jericho, but since I’m dog tired and no better than a knot on a log for creativity (or lack thereof), I won’t bore you to tears…except to say this: I love our fight for Jericho, and I’m proud to have been a part of it. All those figures above could mean anything — or they could mean nothing. It is what it is, and I will take it that way. Either way, I am going to continue to enjoy the ride on The CW, as well as the many friendships we’ve built that sustain us. For now, my ignorance is bliss, and I’m loving living again in Jake Green’s world, even with the nukes and lack of good chocolate.
Julie/Welcome
P.S. OK, I threw in a few. So, sue me.
And I AM amused:
Maybe much to your amusement, my musing is over. Have a great one, and let us know when you catch us on UHD!
Julie/Welcome
The ad begins airing today (Dec 1) on Universal HD. If you happened to see it, please post when you saw it and where you’re from (and any other thoughts you have).
Your Pal,
-Rubberpoultry
It’s just an hour away, and I’m so excited — like I’ve never seen my boys Jake and Johnston Green, Rob Hawkins, and Stanley Richmond before (or at least 10 times before). But it’s here. The first Sunday night of the next 29 weeks when The CW Network, bumping its previous programming, substitutes Jericho at 7 PM for another run on a national network and gives viewers, who may have missed it the first time around, the opportunity to see what all the fuss is about.
I know I’ve hounded my friends and other so-called unbelievers to give Jericho a chance, so they can see why their crazy, usually TV-averse friend thinks this show is worthy of her fleeting attention…and theirs (fleeting or not). I’ve promised them that all those previously unsuspecting unbelievers whom I’ve persuaded (i.e., hounded and coerced under the threat of listening to Julie talk EVEN more about Jericho) all have one thing in common — they are now believers. For once, I have won each and every single time I made this argument. I hope all of you are up to arguing the case, too. It’s probably our last shot, and it’s our time to hope that CBS, owner of The CW, finally gets it right. Nothing would make me happier than to prove CBS wrong. What about you? I have no idea what it means that CW is airing our show again, but I will just take it at face value and enjoy the heck out of it.
Beginning tomorrow morning (Dec. 1), Universal HD begins airing 85 spots of our fan-funded and fan-produced Save Jericho Again TV ad. It will air 60 times during this month in the Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-7 p.m. time block and 25 times over weekend nights between 7 and 11 p.m. — some during the scheduled airings of Jericho, and some not.
First and foremost, I want to thank Barney/Redsox for his negotiating skills in getting us the best UHD package possible on a limited amount of funding. Beyond that, he has taken on the mantle of a leader at a time when many of us had to tend to other life circumstances, and he did it, with many personal issues of his own. Barney, I’m honored to call you my friend, and if you’ll ever get down to SC to see me, I’m going to give you enough Shoeless Joe Jackson to last a lifetime!
Many others in the fan base deserve earnest pats on the back from me for the time and sacrifices demanded in getting this ad to air at UHD (and with Time-Warner in LA before):
In the wake of Thanksgiving, please know that I gave my sincere thanks for all of you and this Jericho experience. And thanks to all of you for listening to my ramblings. It has meant that much to me.
So, now, what’s left to do? Follow Barney’s “Operation Phoenix” plan that’s posted anywhere and everywhere imaginable (most recent press release available for download under TV Campaign Info). Enjoy Jericho and our TV ad, and don’t forget to leave comments on the CW and UHD sites. And give eternal thanks for Skeet’s rocking a hoodie and army jacket better than anyone I know. The last one — probably the most important of all.
Julie/Welcome
With things firing up on a few Jericho fronts, there is a lot to celebrate. Our ad, thanks to the work of Redsox, Nightshade, Welcome2CHO, NorsU, and K6 (and probably others I’m forgetting) will be airing nationally on Universal HD. All of the credit goes to the people mentioned in the last line, as I had a much smaller role in making it happen than they did. Also, as has been posted, Jericho will be returning to the air soon for a sequential 29-week run on The CW.
Our Jericho family is doing well, too. I’ve recently heard from a several of the producers and writers, and they’re both excited and maybe even a bit surprised themselves at the CW announcement. Federman and Scaia are busy on a new show called Warehouse 13, Carol is working on a couple of pilots, Jon is as busy as can be with two pilots and other exciting stuff in the works, and Dan and Karim are working feverishly on Harpers’ Island. They are aware of what we’re doing, and as Carol put it last week in an email, “You guys are so awesome.” Carol and Jon even took time out to share a recipe for the forthcoming fan-created Jericho Cookbook.
I’m amazed at the generosity of Jericho fans. From peanut butter for food banks in Kansas, to DVDs for troops, to helping others in the fandom in times of financial and other needs, I’m just blown away. I know that our efforts are largely focused on things related to Jericho, but I wanted to take just a moment and ask you for a little help with something that is near and dear to me and my family right now.
For many of us, the holiday season presents an opportunity to go home and catch up with family and friends. It’s also a time when we look to those facing challenges and hardships, in hopes of helping ease the burdens they face during this special time of year.
Heavy on my heart this year is an old friend friend from childhood named Matt McNeil. I recently learned of an incredibly heartbreaking story playing out in his life. Matt and his wife Shannon have two amazing kids (Waverly and Oliver), who earlier this year were both diagnosed with a terminal disease called MPS III/Sanfilippo Syndrome.
Children with Sanfilippo often go undiagnosed until after age 1. Between ages 2 and 6, their learning ability declines, and as time goes on, they begin to regress and lose everything they’ve learned. With no treatment available, most children only live into their teens, and many don’t survive childhood. The McNeils face daily challenges I cannot even imagine. Every day the disease progresses further, and as Shannon wrote recently on her blog, they feel the kids slipping through their fingers. I encourage you to read Shannon’s words, but be prepared for a cry along the way.
A fund has recently been started for the McNeils to help them purchase a home with all of the necessary alterations needed to keep the kids safe. If you have the means to do so, would you please consider offering a helping hand to Matt, Shannon, and the kids? You can donate on their site, and if you felt so inclined, you could do it in honor of Jericho.
Please visit www.ahundredforahome.com to learn more.
Have a blessed Christmas,
Jason “Rubberpoultry” Moore
Save Jericho Again
More details soon….but here’s the skinny for the moment:
I had a $2,500 check cut today to NBC/UHD and overnighted to 30 Rockefeller Plaza for the national airing of our Save Jericho Again TV ad. Thanks to lots of folks who went the extra mile to make this thing happen (I’ll give the 411 on all that shortly), we should be celebrating Thanksgiving with our presence clearly known on the UHD channel.
The CW also seems to know a good thing when it sees it. Skeet and the gang will be back on that network on Sunday nights for a 29-week run of the complete (?) series. Read about it here and here.
Back soon…stay tuned!
Julie/Welcome2CHO
Thanks to everyone who has contributed their dollars and their support for three runs of the Save Jericho Again TV ad — twice on various cable channels via Time-Warner in LA and soon on UHD across the nation.
All who donated at least $20 during the course of the campaign had their names thrown in the hat during our SJA Chat tonight, and five names were chosen as winners of a DVD featuring the TV commercial and the great work of RP:
Ann Walton of University Heights, OH
Hilda Bowen (PBMom) of The Woodlands, TX
Cynthia Riggins of Concord, CA
Gregg Thompson of Boca Raton, FL
Elizabeth Stinebaugh (PV544) of Albuquerque, NM
Congrats to our winners! RP will be shipping those DVDs out soon.
To the rest of you…many thanks for all your loyalty and support! Your trust in us has been nothing short of humbling.
- Julie/Welcome
Is it a little too quiet in here? Yeah, I thought so, too. But hold on…we’ve got our Save Jericho Again ads going national on UHD very soon.
Redsox is in the process of getting the contract worked out, Rubberpoultry is getting the ad put together in the format needed by UHD, I’m ready to write the big, fat payment check and the big, fat news release regarding our latest ad efforts, and GenPatton is building up his reserves to lead cheers when we go national! All this, of course, between some rather stressful days on our jobs lately, plus taking care of things on the homefront. However, once we get all details worked out, which will be very soon, we’ll post the ad schedule and ask you to help us spread the word.
For now, though, we’re still here, we’re still moving forward, and we still love Jericho! Thanks to all of you who helped put us over the top again with ad funding.
In the meantime, take advantage of “all Jericho, all the time” on UHD if you have access to it (I don’t!). There’s a plethora of Jericho (and Skeet hotness) on UHD during all time periods through November 30th. Please show UHD and the Skeetaliciousness some love!
- Julie/Welcome2CHO
We did an auction last week on a signed Hollywood Reporter with 8 signatures, and the bidding was fierce. The bidding ended with a final price of $225. A user who identified her/himself as Char won the auction.
Unfortunately, this user’s email address appears to have been incorrectly entered, and all attempts on our part to contact this user have failed. Char, if you see this, please contact us (info@savejerichoagain.com)!
If we don’t hear from Char over the weekend, the item will be re-listed on Monday.
Thanks
-Rubberpoultry
It’s time to check in and let you know where we stand with all our Save Jericho Again activities, as well as to applaud YOU for your continued loyalty, commitment, and zeal to keeping alive one of the most thought-provoking, talked-about, and, from our standpoint, beloved TV shows in years.
But first, I’m going to make it a little bit hard for myself in order to help educate my offspring in the art of language. She’s working on high school level vocabulary words and moaning and groaning with aggravation that her mother gets so jazzed about such things. Anybody who knows me knows that I LOVE words, and anybody who reads my writing or becomes the unfortunate victim of my ramblings knows that I love LOTS of words (verbosity) and big ones, at that! My daughter…..eh, not so much. Not a verbal sort (but with vastly greater intelligence than my own), and she can’t begin to fathom why her vocabulary words even matter or how they can add anything of interest to the world as it currently exists. You may agree with her, but ~ HANDS OVER EARS ~ I’m ignoring you.
Honestly, it’s such a strange compilation of words, neither can I, but I’m trying to make a point here. This may be awful, but please abide with me as I provide you with latest info on my other great love Jericho, all the while, proving to my daughter that some of these words actually work (however awkward). Oh, she, of little faith! Who knows? It may be educational, but if it’s making your stomach roil, please cut a poor mother a break as she pushes her progeny toward the importance of two of the Rs of learning. So, without further ado (and NO teenage eye-rolling):
I apologize for this post’s lack of pungent wit (and length), but hey….sometimes, the road to education is painful! Thank you for allowing me to expostulate on its importance — and, more importantly, thank you for loving Jericho!
** How’d you do?
- Julie/Welcome2CHO
And the winner is…..
Nana!
She got the script for $402, plus she kicked in some extra to support the ad.
Congrats, and enjoy that script.
Thanks to everyone who participated!
-Rubberpoultry
Own the script that told Hawkins’ backstory, had Mimi talking to chickens, and forged a new relationship between Jake and Hawkins.
This script, autographed by episode writer Robbie Thompson, series creator Jon Steinberg, and executive story editors Matt Federman and Steve Scaia, will be a treasured collectors’ item that one lucky fan will enjoy thumbing through for years to come. Script contains cut scenes, and even characters, left on the cutting room floor.
The auction appears on the right. Bidding is limited to registered users. You can register HERE.
Anyone who’s been following the saga of the A.K.A. script knows we’ve been trying to get the thing on eBay throughout this week. Long story short…eBay says that selling scripts is a copyright violation and against its rules. Very ironic, since we’ve already sold several to raise funds for this effort.
Anyway- this evening, we’ve been looking into how to auction off the script, and the first thought was to do a live auction right here in the SJA chat room. After digging around, I found a plug-in that will allow us to do an eBay-style auction. You’ll see it on the right (if you’re logged in), if not it looks like this:
Click on it, and you’ll see a window that is very similar in style (information-wise) to what you get with an eBay auction:

Before we do this for real, I’d like to do a test, so I need as many of you as are willing to place bids on the test auction. Obviously, none of it is for real, so go nuts. Let’s just work the bugs out.
And remember, eventually you’ll be bidding on this:

We’ll fire the real auction up after we’ve had some time to test.
Thanks! Rubberpoultry
Robbie Thompson is a name many of us may not know, although he worked on both seasons of Jericho in the writer’s room. Over the last month plus, I’ve gotten to know Robbie, and like so many others in the Jericho family, he’s an amazing guy.
Robbie started out as a writers’ assistant, and on Episode 18 (AKA), Carol Barbee gave him the reins to craft the story. This episode showed us Robert and Darcy Hawkins in love, the beginning of Jake’s and Hawkins’ relationship in those intense scenes in the basement, and who could forget Mimi and the chicken?
Robbie was kind enough to donate a signed script (which also includes signatures from Jon Steinberg, Matt Federman, and Steve Scaia) for the effort to raise funds to get the ad back on the air. He also wanted to share a few words with everyone:
“Hey, Robbie Thompson here. I just wanted to say thank you all for everything you’ve done for Jericho. I’m so proud to be a part of this show’s legacy – a legacy that simply would not exist without your creativity, hard work and belief in the show. You made television history – twice! First by bringing the show back from the dead, and again by creating the first ever fan created television ad. I’m just blown away by the quality and craftsmanship of the work Jason did on the ad, and I hope auctioning off this signed copy of Episode 18, “A.K.A.” will help raise the necessary funds to get your amazing ad back on the air and keep the fight to save Jericho alive. Thanks again, Robbie Thompson”
Thanks, Robbie. We appreciate all that you’ve done for Jericho and its fans!
-Rubberpoultry
After numerous requests from within the fandom, I checked in with Carol today, and she was kind enough to respond, even though she’s out of the office through August. It turns out KayT did the same thing by coincidence.
She told me that the Jericho producers are moving full steam ahead on two of the fronts we’ve been already heard about. What’s really exciting is that she said they’re actually working on a story document for presentations associated with the current negotiations.
Negotiations are always sensitive, so there’s not much more that can be said right now, but I think this is really great news.
I know the next question is which two fronts. I think we’ll have that information sooner rather than later.
There are some moments in life that are indescribable. Tonight, I experienced one of those when I saw my baby girl for the first time. That moment, and the moment when her mommy first held her, will forever be etched in my mind as something so special, words haven’t been created yet to describe them.
The best thing about being a Jericho fan is being part of such an incredible community. So many of you have shared well wishes and happy thoughts to my wife and I over the last few days via e-mail, Facebook, and over the phone. Many of you knew that we were going in for an induction Thursday, July 24. Well, turns out we didn’t exactly need the induction. Michele gave birth totally on her own with no drugs or anything to get it going. No epidural either! OUCH!
Anyway, it is with much excitement and enthusiasm (even at 3:25AM) that I share with you our newest arrival:
This morning (July 25th), we welcomed Madeline Darby Moore into the world at 1:12AM. She weighed 6lbs, 10oz.
You will eventually be able to see her photo at the following link (under parents Jason and Michele), although I’ll try to post some pictures at some point soon:
http://www.kmcnetwork.org/southviewob/babygallerysvh/menu/findbabies.cfm?letter=M
Thank you all for celebrating this incredible moment us.
Jason
EDIT: Finally added some photos.
For someone who works so hard for his family, his business, his church, all of us, and Jericho, you don’t get much of a break, do you? Well, we’d like for that to change — if only a brief respite. And that’s what we’re offering you, Jason. Some rest and relaxation for a weekend with Mrs. RP in some place called Easton, where we’ve heard that you have spent a pleasant getaway weekend before. We figured that, for all you do for us, it’s time that we do for you.
Sooooo….many, many Jericho Rangers who have supported the Save Jericho Again TV ad campaign in various ways are coming together tonight to say a collective “Thank you!” and to show you how much we appreciate the sacrifices we know you’ve made on behalf of us and our favorite show Jericho.
Please accept this gift put together especially for the Moore family as just a small token of gratitude from the entire membership of the Save Jericho Again team from around the world:
Thank you for sharing your valuable time, incredible talents, and wonderful friendship with all of us. You have helped build this ‘family,’ and we want to make sure that you know how much we appreciate it…..if we haven’t already! You are a blessing to us and everyone else associated with Jericho.
– Julie/Welcome
I know how anxious everyone is about what’s happening right now with Jericho. I’m right there with you.
I checked in with Carol, and she told me that some of the members of the Jericho team had been out of the country and have just gotten back into town. In fact, they had a little impromptu meeting in the hallway to catch up on the Jericho front, and it sounds like things will start moving forward again fairly quickly.
While not a huge revelation, this confirms for me that things are still happening. With important team members out of the country, things probably slowed down a bit, but now they should start hopping again.
Thanks, Carol, for being so great to us and offering what you can!
-Rubberpoultry
Because he won’t post it, I will. Fancast’s Julia Diddy again takes an up-close, personal look at fans’ efforts to Save Jericho Again — this time, with an in-depth study of Rubberpoultry’s contributions and the thought process that went into creating the TV ad.
Julia is proving to be a wonderful friend to those of us who love Jericho. And RP? What can you say? We are honored to have his work serve as the collective strong, proud, dedicated voice of the Jericho community.
Check out the article here.
Digg it here.
Jason, from a professional standpoint, I think you are incredible. From a personal standpoint, I think you are one of the finest, most decent people I have ever had the privilege to meet. On behalf of the entire Jericho community, I thank you for representing us the way you have.
Julie/Welcome
For many of us, CBS.com is the main place we stay plugged in to what’s happening on the Jericho front. While a lot of fans seem to be unable to log in and or post, the fight is not over. It looks as if they’re having problems board-wide. I’ve got an e-mail out trying to see what’s going on.
At the suggestion of someone in the fandom, I’m setting up this blog entry as a place to check in for those who normally call CBS home.
Feel free to check in by commenting.
-Rubberpoultry
If Jericho has proven anything, it’s that the efforts of many individuals working together can make a real difference. Every person involved in this show and its fandom has played an important part in the story that is Jericho (on- and off-screen).
Back when things looked grim the first time around and we were waiting for word from CBS and/or those involved in production about the future of Jericho, someone special entered the picture in our fandom (although she’d already appeared on our TV screens).
I remember how warm and comforting her posts were when she made her introduction as “Humble Townsperson Jennie.” She brought so much hope to our community with her words, and she continues to inspire us each and every time she stops in for a few words.
Jennie Sword appeared throughout both seasons of Jericho in many scenes as a background actor. While she may not have a big prominent credit at the beginning of the show, she’s a star in the hearts of fans everywhere. Here are a few wonderful words from one of our favorite citizens of Jericho:
Hello everyone ~
I still can’t get over your tireless efforts! It’s beautiful how Jericho has touched the hearts of such special people. I know after all you’ve been doing, the waiting can be somewhat of a suspenseful cliffhanger in itself. My mom always says that often times no news is good news. It’s true! These things usually do take serious time, but I know without you, there wouldn’t even be serious talks going on to keep the show going, so I hope everyone takes to heart that every voice really has mattered. You all have done some truly wonderful things to be very proud of, no matter what, and we’ll never forget that. You’ve gone above and beyond from writing tons of letters to making creative bold statements like the billboard and commercial – and leaving us speechless. Then there’s even some giving back by all the many wonderful charitable things you’ve done in the name of the show and its loyal fan base. All the while, you continue bringing more awareness to an outdated ratings system. Simply amazing. So, I hope you take time to reflect on special things, friendships you’ve made, feel proud of all you have done, and never lose heart. You’ve made a difference in many things beyond our show. That’s special. If you believe in yourselves, anything can happen, so may you all keep your spirits and kindness alive in all you do in life. Thank you for touching ours.
~ Jennie
You may have been in the background in Jericho, but you’re in the foreground of our hearts! Thanks for stopping by Jennie. Isn’t she great?
-Rubberpoultry
Never let it be said that moss grows under a Jericho Ranger’s feet! Now that the 10-day run of our Save Jericho Again TV ads have wrapped up, and many other campaigns, such the Variety ad, billboard, several great humanitarian efforts, balloons and cake, and various nutty endeavors, have reached a conclusion, we’ve got to keep the momentum going. We’ve made some noise, and we’re being noticed, but our work is not over yet.
That’s why we’re moving into Round 2 of the TV ad campaign. Thanks to a very generous offer by PMary and Jeff Knoll to help us make some quick bucks and purchase more air time, we are offering for auction eight Jericho scripts from Season 2’s “Termination for Cause,” personally signed by that episode’s central players Brad Beyer and D.B. Sweeney, on eBay.
PMary and Jeff successfully auctioned off other Jericho items through eBay to fund the Variety and billboard campaigns, and they are graciously doing the same to help fund us more ads and get more eyes on Rubberpoultry’s fantastic Save Jericho Again commercial. We won’t be able to purchase as large a media schedule as before, but based on what we bring in through the eBay auction, we can certainly seek additional targeted airtime and supplement our continuing letter- and postcard-writing campaigns.
So, if you want to own a script that showcased “Stanley” and “Goetz” in some of the finest and most moving TV I’ve seen in years, take a look at this. At the same time, you’ll be contributing to Save Jericho Again. Time is limited, and we have only a couple of days to get the word out and seek the best price on these valuable scripts bearing the John Hancock of Brad, our fabulous commercial voice-over guy!
We’ve also installed a Donate link here for anyone else who may want to contribute to this second run of the commercial.
Our heartfelt thanks to PMary and Jeff for this generous donation and great idea! Our heartfelt thanks also to all of you who have contributed or supported the TV ad and other efforts in various ways. It’s great to see all efforts coming together to Save Jericho Again!
– Julie/Welcome2CHO
I think we’d all agree that Brad Beyer is pretty awesome for helping us get our message out by providing a voiceover for the TV ad (not to mention about a million other reasons). After checking out the site, and keeping up with all of our various efforts to get Jericho back into production, Brad wanted to send a quick note to the fans to encourage us as we wait for more on Jericho’s future. Here’s what he had to say:
“Love the website, love the billboard, love the commercial! Thanks again everyone. You are THE BEST FANS ever!”—Brad Beyer
In the week or so after the spot was released, I received some reactions that I thought I’d share. It’s always nice to hear from cast and crew:
“RP…that’s DAMN fine work. Well done, once again! You all should be very proud with what you’ve done, no matter the outcome. Really impressive!”
Steve Scaia
Executive Story Editor/Producer
“Well done, Jason.
Let’s hope it works somehow.”
Esai Morales (from the set of Caprica)
Major Beck
“As we say in my family…HOLY CANOLI!
You all are unbelieveably wonderful to have put your time, money and passion into Jericho.
I am speechless actually.
I thank you very much.”
Love,
Alicia (Coppola)
Mimi Clark
“Fabulous! Congratulations! The billboard is up near my house! I love it!”
Shoshannah Stern
Bonnie Richmond
“Brad and I had a great time recording the VO for the Jericho commercial. We both can’t believe and love what you and the fans are doing. Keep up the fight….you never know what may happen.”
Phil Palmer
Production Sound Mixer
This is yet another example of how amazing our extended Jericho family is. Thanks for continuing to fan our flames!
-Rubberpoultry
How many shows do you watch that you know the producers’ names? Probably not too many, and yet the majority of our people in this fandom know the names/faces of our producers, writers, and crew the way we do those with starring credits at the beginning of each episode.
One of the greatest things about the Jericho experience is the incredible interaction we have had with those who create the show. Dan Shotz has always been one of our greatest supporters, and he wanted to send us all a message about the campaign to save Jericho again.
Keep in mind as you read his words that Dan is up to his eyeballs in the development of Harper’s Island (a show we should give a chance). Here’s what he had to say:
The love and support for Jericho still amazes me every day. You guys have gone so above and beyond. I personally stood by the billboard on Ventura and stared up at it so proud. I watched Rubberpoultry’s perfectly designed commercial on the Discovery Channel, which is better than the actual content on the Discovery Channel. The blogs, the posts, the ads, the letters… thank you.
We miss making this show so much and are doing everything we can to bring it back.
Dan
—
Thanks, Dan, for always being so generous with your time when it comes to Jericho. We wish you much success in all of your endeavors, and we hope we will see the Jericho story being told again soon.
What say you all?
-Rubberpoultry
If you’ve ever wondered if you’re simply a lone voice in the wilderness, especially when it comes to loving and promoting Jericho, please take heart! Your collective voices have been heard, and thanks to your overwhelming response with insightful comments and Diggs to this week’s Fancast piece, your words, thoughts and actions as a Jericho Ranger are going to be experienced louder and stronger than ever before.
Here are a couple of excerpts from an e-mail received from Julia Diddy, columnist for Sci Fi Tracker at Fancast.com:
Hi Julie! Hi gang! Well, my editor and others at Fancast were so pleased by the reaction to the Jericho column, they’ve given me the greenlight to give this regular coverage……what you’re doing is exciting stuff, and we’d love to help you get the word out.
In a later e-mail, she added:
Fancast would love to continue to profile the ongoing campaign to find Jericho a new home. There was a great reception to the article [“Behind the Scenes of the ‘Save Jericho’ Campaign”] regarding the fight to save Jericho thus far. The campaign is obviously a saga in its own right. I would love to find out from others involved – producers, writers, cast…what the Save Jericho campaign has meant to them, how it is casting a light on changes that need to be made within the television industry (outdated Nielsen measurement methods, etc.), how this grassroots campaign is breaking new ground, etc.
If you’re unfamiliar with Fancast, here are a few tidbits provided by Julia:
So, be on the lookout for more columns highlighting our community and our efforts to preserve Jericho and what’s left of quality TV programming! You spoke out with lots of passion, commitment, and obvious intelligence, plus a good dose of appreciation for Julia’s article, and see what it got you?? Let’s continue to tell the Jericho story, and please show the love to Fancast for giving us the opportunity.
Julie/Welcome2CHO
As our fight continues, we’re hearing from many of our Jericho family behind the scenes. I wanted to share some of the inspiring words here on the blog over the coming days. I’m so excited about the first one.
My good buddy Shelby (www.jericho4kids.com) forwarded me a message today from our very own Bob Stephenson. He wanted to share some thoughts with us about what we’re all doing together as a fandom. I’ll let Bob’s words speak for themselves:
So here we are – another waiting game, another reality television season – UGH! I’m so tired of this stuff. I think it is important to let you all know how much it means to the cast that you keep hope alive. Not only for Jericho, but for television in general. When this fight began just after the first season, what struck me was how fed up everyone was – fed up with shows being pulled off the air for no reason. Sure, some shows fail, and those shows need to be pulled (they lose money and sponsorship), but many do well and are pulled just because the network doesn’t understand them and they don’t care about how you feel. To them, it’s just a widget that can be replaced – as if one painting can easily substitute another. Well, it can’t.
I am so happy to see/hear our fans scream “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” The cast of the show watches television too, believe it or not, and we say the same things you guys are saying all the time – “I can’t believe they canceled this show or that show…” We hate it. As viewers, as actors, as a union…we hate it. We want to work. It’s a job to us – a job we love. We are hired to entertain and when a show comes along that we believe in, that we feel is worthy of 12- to 18-hour days, that we care about…it means something, something special and we don’t want it to go away – especially if the show’s FANS, in the millions, don’t want it to go away. “I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna take it, anymore,” as the movie “Network” so brilliantly put it.
Anyway, thank you so much for fighting the good fight. I am hoping that someday soon we will all be back in Bailey’s drinking beer, resisting Jennings & Rall, and celebrating weddings. You guys are great!
Your friend,
Bob Stephenson

I know everyone is dying to know what the status of the Jericho negotiations are. I’m right there with you. It’s hard not to get discouraged while waiting for an announcement of some sort. I saw several posts over the last day or two that seemed to indicate that we were feeling collectively down.
I thought I’d check in with Carol Barbee, because I knew she could give us the morale boost we need to carry on. It’s not much more than we’ve heard before, but it’s something. This is what Carol had to say this afternoon…
“We can’t give specifics yet, but I (Carol) and the Junction team have had several meetings or conference calls about Jericho business in the last two weeks. Please tell the fandom to hang in there just a little while longer.”
So it sounds like we may hear something relatively soon. I have a feeling Carol will check in to see what our thoughts are on even this mini-update. Feel free to drop a comment and tell Carol that we’re officially in “hang in there” mode.

Most of the time, waiting is the hardest part. Here we are again waiting to learn the fate of our favorite show, and some days are harder than others. I’ve always found laughter to be the best medicine for the tough times, so I put together a little craft project for anyone who wants to start the day off right with Jerich-o’s cereal.
I put this together first as an illustration for the CBS boards, and then when Jerichon rolled around, I made real cereal boxes for our guests (Matt Federman and Mike Loomer). Here’s how the final art looks wrapped around a real mini-cereal box:
And here are the finished boxes after being presented to our Jericho guests (photo by Kestral):

After several requests to make the art available, I’ve finally come up for air after finishing the spot and all of my regular work. You can download your own copy of the artwork here. It looks like this (minus the watermark):
Here are a few tips to getting a realistic looking box:

This has been the overriding topic since the commercial campaign was completed and began airing. If you count the period before the show was officially canceled, when Rangers started planning for the worst, it’s now been over three months of rigorous campaigning. Ideas proposed and a lot of downright hard work. As the time has passed, we have begun to receive less and less official info regarding the status of talks between Paramount/CBS and potential investors. By all accounts, this greatly adds to the frustration level. It affects me just as much as any of you, but I think we can work through it.
Should new ideas and concepts be proposed and developed? Sure, without a doubt, because it’s the backbone of our existence and how we have come to survive this long. So, please make sure you keep your letters flowing to Paramount and to Comcast. It’s simple, it’s cheap, and it takes little time to accomplish. But we also need to step back and catch our breath for a minute or two. In such a short time frame, we have accomplished more than I think we thought we could when these endeavors all began:
So, the question now comes right back to this — What next?
Personally, I cling to the words that Carol Barbee spoke at Jerichon. She said we will hear something this summer. I am going to read that as sometime within the next month. I would believe we will know something before the 1st of August. By all accounts, talks continue, and, hopefully soon, they will conclude in our favor.
We continue on with what we have been doing, including writing letters, recruiting new fans, pushing the DVDs as best we can. These things are in our control, and they definitely will help.
But, in doing this, let’s try to return to something else that has been missing at times.
HAVING FUN!
Numerous threads have popped up that ring of discussion regarding Season 3 plots and story lines. Let’s dive into these threads and get back to having a little fun again. By doing so, we are still supporting the show, and if anything, it’s our way of saying, “We know Jericho will live on.” People will see that, including many people who NEED to see it. They will still fight hard for us.
In the end, that’s all we can ask for.

Not that I’m the sharpest knife in the drawer or the most educated in all that is the World Wide Web, but I’m still pretty impressed with today’s stats related to hits on this Save Jericho Again site. Since I’m no expert, I will let the universal Jericho love speak for itself:

Over the course of the last few days, I’ve had a number of requests for a downloadable version of the spot at a higher resolution. Now that I’ve finally found the time to make that happen, it’s online and ready for download. It’s the next best thing to being in LA in front of a Time Warner Cable subscriber’s TV.
You can get the file right here! (You may have to load QuickTime to view it).
Happy Viewing!

There are many jobs in the world of entertainment production that many of us never think about. One of them is in the capturing and mixing of sound on set, and in the studio. There are probably a lot of us in the fandom who don’t know the name Phil Palmer, but it’s time we should all get to know the man behind the sound of Jericho, National Treasure 2, Swingtown and the upcoming Star Trek movie (among others).
Phil was approached on very short notice and asked if he could help us by recording Brad’s VO for our spot. Like so many others in the Jericho family he agreed to do whatever he could to help. Without him, we’d have nothing. He donated his time just as everyone else involved has. Please join me in thanking Phil for being part of this project, and for helping us hear 2 seasons of Jericho!

I’m new to the party in terms of just having seen Jericho for the first time in the past couple of weeks…a job where I worked at night prevented much television watching…but I happened on it a couple of weeks ago on CW and have been watching since….I’ve also watched all of the episodes on line (and rented the DVD from Blockbuster) because I can’t get enough!
In any case, I went from knowing nothing to a complete conversion, and I hope that this show will be given another chance! I’ve started doing what I can (letters and e-mails) because I think that Jericho is the best show that I have seen in years! Great plan, and, hopefully, it will work!
Thanks, EKG! That’s all we’ve been saying. Just watch it once, and you’ll be hooked.
Below you’ll find the latest message Redsox has crafted, with Rangers pushing it out to TV, various entertainment, and college boards around the world. Feel free to post where you can and where you see fit:
Jericho is an alternate future story of what happens when America is attacked, and the government crumbles. The people of the small town of Jericho must deal with the unthinkable and find a way to survive. Jericho details how people rise to the challenges around them, and in today’s world, their story is inspiring. CBS has put Jericho on YouTube – it’s the first CBS series to be released this way. Come check out this great series that was too good for commercial television, but is watched by millions worldwide via the Internet….and an alternative stations.
