The Jericho Comic Book: An interview with Jon Steinberg
Jon, thanks for agreeing to talk with us about the forthcoming Jericho comic book series. As I’m sure you know Jericho fans are eagerly awaiting the continuation of the Jericho storyline.
Here are some questions submitted by Jericho’s most diehard fans:
1. Are you going to approach the storyline differently than you would have for a television series?
In terms of the story itself, I would say that we’ve pretty much picked up the story from the end of season two of the tv series, and continued it forward in the same spirit we started it in. But producing a tv show is a lot different than creating a comic book. WIth the book, we didn’t have to worry about locations, special effects, shooting days, or any of the other practical challenges that we dealt with on the show. So the comics will be telling a story that’s very much a Jericho story, but in a way that is, to say the least, bigger than any tv show could ever be. By a lot.
2. Will any of the storyline from season 2 that was dumped due to the shortened season be included in the comic book in some way?
Not really. I think we focused more on pushing the story forward from where we left off than going back to fill in the blanks.
3. Will the action move around the country, or just be fixed in Cheyenne and Texas where the show left off?
I would say you should expect to see a lot more of the country than we ever saw on the show. Some places that have been referred to already in the show, and some that haven’t.
4. For those who didn’t watch the TV series, will you tell the backstory through flashbacks?
We hope (and plan) for these books to be accessible to everybody, whether they’ve seen every episode of the tv series or none at all. I’m not sure we’ll use flashbacks, but the story should make clear what’s going on
5. How many of the characters from the TV series will be in the comic book?
Pretty much all of them, I think. Obviously we’ll spend more time with some than with others.
6. Any chance of a real Stimi union happening ?
You never know…
Awesome! We can’t wait. We appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this. Much success on the comic book and you upcoming series Human Target!

I’m really anxious for the comic book to come out. I can’t help but wonder how much of the fanfic stories will be included since we saw a lot of it in the tv series.
Thanks Jason and thanks to Jon Steinberg!

I just recently saw this show for the first time after having found it on the instant viewing feature on Netflix and in the space of three days watched the whole series and I am heartbroken that it ended when it did. I will definitely be looking for these comic books.
