A new update from Carol Barbee 8-4-08

After numerous requests from within the fandom, I checked in with Carol today, and she was kind enough to respond, even though she’s out of the office through August. It turns out KayT did the same thing by coincidence.

She told me that the Jericho producers are moving full steam ahead on two of the fronts we’ve been already heard about. What’s really exciting is that she said they’re actually working on a story document for presentations associated with the current negotiations.

Negotiations are always sensitive, so there’s not much more that can be said right now, but I think this is really great news.

I know the next question is which two fronts. I think we’ll have that information sooner rather than later.

    While I think the story must continue on any front possible, I really hope this means TV SERIES. Two of the most recent fronts talked about were a graphic novel and TV movies. I would tune into both, but please tell me the idea of the TV series continuing isn’t dead. Thanks for the update.

    I was just saying to my husband tonight “I want Jericho back.” And then I come to the website and get this awesome news. Little pep talk here. Listen guys, there is ALWAYS hope. If it is anything I’ve learned from my child with autism who is rather more along the lines of a classic autism, there is always hope. If I gave hope, I would have never heard him say “I ov oo” (I love you). With him, there is so much work that goes on, sometimes weeks upon weeks, sometimes months upon months and sometimes years upon years to get him to do the most simple things (like putting on his shirt at age 12), and when he starts doing it, it is the most surreal thing in the universe. It’s moments like those that energize to keep on the road. If you don’t 100% believe that your goal/desire/dream can come true, you will never inspire yourself or others to believe in you. News like this that keep us going. Everyone behind this effort on both sides believe in this show so much, and it is that inspiration that will continue for it to live on. NEVER give up. Just BELIEVE.

    This is indeed good news. As a UK viewer, I doubt it matters much, but Jericho is a great show and needs to be continued. So few shows these days grip you like Jericho did and make you wonder “WHAT IF!? ” The third season would be great.

    I had no idea there was still movement to resurrect the show. No matter what happens, I want to thank Carol and company for all of their diligent efforts.     Up to about 2 weeks ago I had never heard of Jericho. I dont know why, this show is amazing. By far the best post nuke movie/TV show ever made. I was looking around CBS.com at full episode videos and got instantly hooked on Jericho. I have watched both seasons and then I find out Jericho was cancelled while looking for a start date of the next season. This is a HUGE mistake, I am just dumbfounded. I have begun to fight and also got a few friends hooked on Jericho already.

    I hope that the show can be given another chance. It deserves it. The storyline kept me watching even the re-runs intensely. I think the storyline needs at least one more season to cultivate some of the plots not yet fully disclosed.

    We just found out about Jericho, and watched both seasons on DVD… over the weekend… with little sleep… LOL. We are hardcore LOSTies, and we were very happy to find another quality storyline that is thought provoking and filled with intrigue in the Jericho series.

    Spent the last 1/2 hour surfing the web trying to find out about season 3, and are seriously hoping that somehow a new season can be worked out. Even our kids love this show.

    We will be listening closely and watching this blog for any sign that the show will make it to a third season.

    My whole family and many of my friends are huge fans and can only hope that season three gets the go ahead. We all stay awake at night waitng for it to start …. we are getting very tired now ….. weeks without sleep …. getting weaker ….. tired ….. sleeepy …. please hurry before unconciousness takes our entire neighbourhood ….

    Seriously Jericho is/was the best thing on TV … why did it get dropped … I’ll never understand execs :(

    I love Jericho. I am not one to get into TV shows, but I couldn’t stand to miss a single second of Jericho. I just found this site, and made a donation this evening. I hope that Jericho comes back for a 3rd (and many more) season!
