Wonderful words from Jennie Sword (Our beloved Jericho Townie)

If Jericho has proven anything, it’s that the efforts of many individuals working together can make a real difference. Every person involved in this show and its fandom has played an important part in the story that is Jericho (on- and off-screen).

Back when things looked grim the first time around and we were waiting for word from CBS and/or those involved in production about the future of Jericho, someone special entered the picture in our fandom (although she’d already appeared on our TV screens).

I remember how warm and comforting her posts were when she made her introduction as “Humble Townsperson Jennie.” She brought so much hope to our community with her words, and she continues to inspire us each and every time she stops in for a few words.

Jennie Sword appeared throughout both seasons of Jericho in many scenes as a background actor. While she may not have a big prominent credit at the beginning of the show, she’s a star in the hearts of fans everywhere. Here are a few wonderful words from one of our favorite citizens of Jericho:

Hello everyone ~

I still can’t get over your tireless efforts! It’s beautiful how Jericho has touched the hearts of such special people. I know after all you’ve been doing, the waiting can be somewhat of a suspenseful cliffhanger in itself. My mom always says that often times no news is good news. It’s true! These things usually do take serious time, but I know without you, there wouldn’t even be serious talks going on to keep the show going, so I hope everyone takes to heart that every voice really has mattered. You all have done some truly wonderful things to be very proud of, no matter what, and we’ll never forget that. You’ve gone above and beyond from writing tons of letters to making creative bold statements like the billboard and commercial – and leaving us speechless. Then there’s even some giving back by all the many wonderful charitable things you’ve done in the name of the show and its loyal fan base. All the while, you continue bringing more awareness to an outdated ratings system. Simply amazing. So, I hope you take time to reflect on special things, friendships you’ve made, feel proud of all you have done, and never lose heart. You’ve made a difference in many things beyond our show. That’s special. If you believe in yourselves, anything can happen, so may you all keep your spirits and kindness alive in all you do in life. Thank you for touching ours.

~ Jennie

You may have been in the background in Jericho, but you’re in the foreground of our hearts! Thanks for stopping by Jennie. Isn’t she great?

    Jennie,

Thank you so much for such kind words. I always look for you when I am watching my DVDs and smile when I see your face.

It is folks like you that make this continued campaign for our beloved Jericho and quality programming worth it. All of you from Jericho have been coming into our homes for quite sometime now as “invited guests” and I want that to continue.

    My Best to You!

I can’t wait to see what projects are in your future (even if you have to sadly retire that dusty jacket)!

Thanks for the encouraging words, Jennie. See, you are another unfinished story from Jericho. There is so much more to tell, so many more directions to go. Jericho needs to come back to finish what was started. And it will be a long time before this story ends – there is too much left unsaid. Reality TV is leaving actors out all together. Quality TV is so hard to come by now. We want well-scripted shows back. Long Live Jericho!

    Hi Jennie!
Thank you so much for giving us all a little boost and a spring in our walk this week with your words here on this site. It means so much to hear from you and to know that you and the cast are watching and aware of how much Jericho means to all of us. You’re right, we’ve done some amazing things, and I think it’s only the beginning! (You’re the first cast member to respond to my messages in the Cast section over on the CBS boards.) I hope when Season 3 is being filmed or the movie, whichever comes first, that you can give us a hint of where you’ll be, so when we see that episode or see the film, we can say: Hey! I know that lady!! Take care of you, and we’ll see you soon back on the set of Jericho! Thanks again for taking the time to reach out to all of the fans, you are awesome!

Wow, Jennie, your eloquence moved me to tears! Thank you for showing us that what we do matters. All of you associated with Jericho make us fans feel very special and appreciated, and I hope you guys feel the love in return.

I wish I could put my finger on what makes this Jericho experience so special and unique. I’ve never been involved with anything like it, and I don’t think I will ever see or feel anything to compare to it. But hearing your words brings it home. All of you have touched our hearts, and it’s gratifying to know that we are touching yours, too.

    Jennie,

I don’t post much, but I enjoyed your note and am gratified to hear from you. It is nice to know that the actors who portrayed our favorite people also care about the show. So many of them don’t. I was drawn to this show by the values displayed by the different characters and hope to see it continue.
