CBS boards acting up

For many of us, CBS.com is the main place we stay plugged in to what’s happening on the Jericho front. While  a lot of fans seem to be unable to log in and or post, the fight is not over. It looks as if they’re having problems board-wide. I’ve got an e-mail out trying to see what’s going on.

At the suggestion of someone in the fandom, I’m setting up this blog entry as a place to check in for those who normally call CBS home.

Feel free to check in by commenting.

Hi, all my CBS board friends! I have missed each and every one of you. What a giant pain the boards are right now. I hope it doesn`t turn too many people off.

I can’t get into any of the boards but the new ones. I don’t like their format at all. I sure wish CBS would fix their boards. Glad to see your post, RP. How did you get in at CBS?

I haven’t had any problems posting on CBS (now I probably just cursed myself). If anyone wants something posted there, but can’t get in, let me know.

I honestly don’t know why I’m in and can post, and others cannot. I’m on a Mac, so that could factor in, but I don’t know that for sure.

I’ve not heard anything recently, and for now, I’m not going to ask, because the last thing I want to do is wear out my welcome.

I think if we give it some time, we’ll hear something relatively soon.

Thanks, RP, for starting this blog. I’m not understanding why some people can log in on the Jericho board, and most of us can’t, unless they were logged in when the change happened. Some of us have gathered at the SciFi Jericho board, as well as Jerichonet.

    Hi Jericho Buddies!

I officially have “Jericho Withdrawal Fever.” It is serious and contagious. The only positive thing about this sickness…I am getting a bunch of new things accomplished! :) Hopefully, we will see each other soon on the CBS board. Thanks, RP, for setting this up for us!

Thanks, RP. I thought I was the only one with the problem for so long. Guess not! Thanks for setting this up. Continue voting on Debby’s links. As of last night, we are just short of 240,000 at richlabonte’s site.

Keep up the good fight. RP, wise of you to not wear out the welcome mat. When we are meant to hear something, we will, although we could all probably do with a small dose of patience, I’m sure. :)

    Hi RP,

I’m using a PC, so it’s not just a Mac thing. I would imagine that those of us who were logged in when the forum change happened can post.

JKI’s forum is still open and so is our blog/news archive - The Telegraph.

    Hi RP,

I just returned from vacation and can not get on the board. And then I found this blog. I sure hope this is not permanent. I am still unclear what has happened here. I am logged into the CBS site but I can’t log into the TV boards. I have tried almost all of them.

Hello everyone! Like many of you, I need my Jericho board fix. Thank you, RP, for setting this up for us. While I was trying to get logged in to the CBS boards for the hundreth time today, I got the brainy idea to check out what shows on the CBS site have been changed to the new format. All the ones in the Classic TV area have been changed, except Jericho. I hope this isn’t a bad sign. Yet again, it could be a good sign that, hopefully, they have found us a new home.

I fear this may be the end of the CBS Jericho message board. At the very least, this hiatus (didn’t they learn anything about hiatuses?) may kill the momentum over there. We probably should plan accordingly.

Meanwhile, this CBS refugee is present and accounted for, and busy on several of the other boards. Thanks, RP, for making this forum available.

I thought maybe it was - you should pardon the impertinance - possibly AOHWELL that was the problem. But looks like that’s not the case. Tried to get in on Comcast and Internet Explorer…nothing.

Hope CBS can get their act together soon!

Thanks, RP, for opening this up for us Jericho Rangers unable to get to our message board “fix”!

The problems are not with just the Jericho boards. NCIS is an active show, and so is Big Brother, and I can’t get in through there either, and they can’t post either.

I clicked on the Prospero logo and it takes you to Mzinga and from their it gives an error message 404 or something like that. I was logged on when this stuff started, and then my computer decided to do its automatic updates, so POOF! lost my log-in!

Site maintenance folks and I don’t like the even newer look of the other forums!

Well, I can’t get on to the CBS boards through any of the forums, whether they’re the new format or old. But I’m here! I don’t like that new format on CBS at all. Unless I’m going blind, there doesn’t even seem to be an obvious log-in button, at least until you try to post a reply. Even then, it didn’t work for me :-(

Hello, my fellow CBS refugees… I am still here and not going anywhere. Even the infamous power clicking doesn’t work for login at CBS, anymore.

A few of us landed at Sci Fi till we get all this worked out. We will work through this little setback — just remember the main thing is to stick together and not give up.
    No rest till season three!

Thanks, RP, for putting this up for us. I can’t post and haven’t been able to do that or log in for a couple of days now. It was only the last 2 days that, no matter what “work around” I try, I can’t post at all or log in. Normally, if I hit reply or went to another commmunity to log in, that I could get into the Jericho boards. Now, even that doesn’t work. There’s also another place to log in on the top right. I tried that too, and it still doesn’t work. I get a 500 error, which says it’s either a server problem or the website is undergoing maintenence. At any rate, I’ll check the other alternate sites for info, too. I can read the posts on the CBS site, but can’t reply to them. So, for those who can still post and log onto the CBS site, you can still post information for all of us to see, but we’ll have to respond to that information somewhere else, I’m afraid.

To all: I have not been able to post for three days. When I try now, I get sever is having trouble, or this page is have technical difficulties. But I want to let y’all know that I have not gone anywhere, and I will continue to fight. I feel the poem by Dylan Thomas titled “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” fits exactly how I feel:

Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Hey, RP, thanks for making a way for us to stay connected. I have been able to log on several times using the ‘power posting’ method, but it has been spotty. Not being able to hear from all of Jericho fandom (although some can still post, and they are appreciated) is really counterproductive…and kinda sad. It felt like the tide was going out.

However, I have resolved to stay focused, regardless. New and potential fans are all around us. When my next funds become available (after I fill up my car and make sure there is food in the fridge lol), I am going to deliver another full set of DVDs to the nearest fire station as a gift. Just tonight, my daughter’s friend (a new fan) and her family were introducing Jericho to yet another unsuspecting soul. :) Lights are still going on! The more new people who see it, the more passion we will have to continue. The fight for Jericho continues…and we can’t/won’t be dissuaded…even by software glitches.

Thanks again, RP. Great interview as well.

    Morning all:
I need to echo Cingramaol’s comments here. I, too, think that we may be seeing the end times for the CBS/Jericho boards.

In a way, this might be a good thing for all of us, however. The trick here, and I think all will agree, is We need to let EVERYONE we can know to go elsewhere (here, jerichotownhall, etc., wherever). We need to keep as many folks as possible in the loop and active.

    Thoughts?

P.S. I recently proposed the idea of an “electronic press kit” that would server as a tool for ALL OF US. It would include show bio, pix, information and logistics on the fanbase and its activities, etc., etc. This would be a common WORD type folder, downloadable to EVERYONE so that we can send, print, etc., at each person’s own speed. It serves a couple of purposes here: #1, the information we send out would always be identical, and #2, it shows solidarity and a uniformed effort.
This isn’t my real field of expertise, but I use a couple of “tools” like this for my business, and they do make it much easier to convey a simple message. Any thoughts on this, guys?? Let me know!

    Chris

For all of you still having a hard time, I found the easiest way to get in is just type Jericho into Google then click on the first result…it takes you directly to the Jericho site on cbs.com. That has given me the least amount of problems. Hope it can work for you too. Besides, it counts as another Jericho search on google and keeps those numbers up.

That is very difficult for me to translate in the right word my feeling. I’m of those serie fan who know that jericho is a turn in all serie history : it’ll be a before and an after jericho, and those two period will be usally different. The network who will make the saison 3 will give him a name, and note only a number on the telecommand.

Don’t miss the stream of originality and discovery, it never breath for long time.
