Update from Carol Barbee on Jericho’s future (June 20th 2008)

I know everyone is dying to know what the status of the Jericho negotiations are. I’m right there with you. It’s hard not to get discouraged while waiting for an announcement of some sort. I saw several posts over the last day or two that seemed to indicate that we were feeling collectively down.

I thought I’d check in with Carol Barbee, because I knew she could give us the morale boost we need to carry on. It’s not much more than we’ve heard before, but it’s something. This is what Carol had to say this afternoon…

“We can’t give specifics yet, but I (Carol) and the Junction team have had several meetings or conference calls about Jericho business in the last two weeks.  Please tell the fandom to hang in there just a little while longer.”

So it sounds like we may hear something relatively soon. I have a feeling Carol will check in to see what our thoughts are on even this mini-update.  Feel free to drop a comment and tell Carol that we’re officially in “hang in there” mode.

    Thank you, Carol (and RP for posting). I am firmly planted in the “No news is good news” camp. I know that as long as I don’t hear anything, it means that talks are continuing. It’s so much better than hearing the “Fat Lady singing.”

    So, not “hearing” anything is good. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

    Watching those episodes of Season 2 and reading so many positive reviews have been very uplifting. I pre-ordered my set, but when it did not arrive Tuesday, I hopped in the car headed for my local Target…I snagged the last one off the shelf!

    I wanted to let you and the team to know that I am not going anywhere. I work 50-plus hours a week. So, I do not waste my personal time. When it comes to watching TV these days for me, there is not much there. I need programming that is fresh, original and intelligent. This is why I gave Jericho a try. From the moment I saw the pilot until now, this show stole my heart and my brain. I am so tired of all the exotic game shows that the networks call reality TV and the cloned police and comedy shows. 1st) I want quality, not mediocre, programming; and, 2nd, and the most important, is to find a new home for Jericho because this show, you (Miss Carol), the writers, cast and crew, and us, the loyal viewers (consumers), deserve to be appreciated and respected.

I have pretty much given up on TV, but I will not give up on Jericho. It is too good to give up on. Thank you for working so hard to keep the show alive. It would have been so easy for all of you to just walk away. Thank you to all those wonderful cast members who have put their careers on hold to wait this out, just for us.     My wife and I finally just watched the last episode of season two earlier today. We missed most of the first season when it originally aired. Arriving to the party late, we got caught up, thanks to reruns on Universal HD. We have seen all 29 episodes now, and we are ready to keep watching. I hope SciFi channel or some other channel picks up this program. It is a great series. Good luck with the efforts to revive the program.

    I had to take a break for a month..to catch up with my personal life and also because it is painful to watch when you know it may not be revived. I get too sucked into the show again and I LOVE IT. Second DVD was great and I am baffled why the Jake and Emily good bye was left out of the series!     Folks, this is some good news, I hope. I gotta tell you that all along I have wanted to drop a line to try & get some answers, but have hesitated. For the life of me, I can’t figure out what possessed the powers-that-be to cancel probably one of the best shows to ever hit the airwaves. You cannot tell me that they didn’t have the audience when we knew several people that loved it, too.
    Especially when you have the crap on TV that boggles the mind!! Give me a break!! We have some theories but for now that’s what they’ll be.

    Jericho was a show that captivated me, had my friends and I guessing what would happen next, and even made me buy an insane amount of peanuts. Please Carol, save Jericho! I don’t know what I would do without it.

    I have just watched the season 2 DVD and realize why I love this show. It is a great show with great characters, and I sincerely hope that we can find a home for season 3, 4, 5, etc., etc., etc. Let us continue the fight. Jericho and the cast/crew deserve it, and so do we – the fans!

    Hey guys…I’m actually new to ‘Jericho. I luckily managed to watch the first episode of season 1 just over a month ago on the Sci Fi Channel over here in little ‘ol England, and it has aired it every Tue-Sat since a random 5 am showing, and after the first episode, I set my sky digital + to record them all … iI’ve just started watching the second season and can’t believe it’s gonna be over :( am real disappointed & saddened. This series has me hooked and gripped at the end of every episode –they leave you wanting much much more !! I’ll hope and pray that it will return for a 3rd and more seasons… I’m so hooked … please someone…somewhere…seal this deal….bring it back for us !!!
    A comic book won’t do it for me…I wanna see it! I love the story line…the characters…EVERYTHING ! ! ! !
